7 months agoThis is one of very few Shanghai dishes restaurants in Toronto. Disregard some of the reviews on the internet, we found it to be surprisingly good. The interior is a little bit out of dated, but it gives a feel of old Shanghai which we like. The service is better than we anticipated, efficient and simple, the waitress/ store manager can speak Shanghai dialect, which is a plus. The food we tried is the Egg Braised meatball 21.99 very tender and not too salty, the veggies inside is so yummy, although we never tasted egg inside meatball in Shanghai, we liked it. Stir Fried Pork Liver 18.99 is so good, it is so tender and the source is tasty, must try. Tomato and shrimp crispy rice crust 21.99, it is nice combination of sweet and sour, crispy and soft texture. House special pan fried bun 9.99 is what we aim for, consistently good. Steamed pork bun 9.99 is also very yummy, must order item every time. Overall, it is a very decent Shanghai food restaurant which is worth trying.

7 months agoBest Shanghainese restaurant I've been to in Ontario. Bold flavours and authentic dishes. Where else can you find shrimp cooked in dragonwell tea in town? Lots of vegetarian options to choose from as well. Make sure to try their braised eggplant.

7 months agoAuthentic Shanghainese food, warm cozy environment, and at an affordable price. My fav dishes were the dunpo pork and the Chinese vegetable with dried bean curds.

7 months agoAs a native Shanghainese, I can't help but give this restaurant a glowing five-star review. Each dish we ordered was bursting with authenticity! The xunyu, shengjianbao, and zaoliuyupian surpassed all expectations. Every dish struck the perfect balance between sweet and savory – a trademark of true Shanghai cuisine. Just a heads up though, they only accept cash or debit cards.
